How do you feel about spending time by yourself? I think spending time by yourself is one of the important parts in life. One important part of life is finding out who you are really are. My parents are both very busy people. My father is a diligent dentist and a loving, caring person. He comes home from endless hours of work to spend time around the dinner table and talk about his day at work. On the other hand, my mother takes care of the house, the kids, and the accounting of my dad’s business. Most of the time, my mother is carpooling around all of the kids to sports practices, classes, and music lessons. Therefore, I am usually alone at least one a day, secluded in my room. Most of the time being alone, I finish up my school homework or study for an upcoming assessment. However, on the weekends I like to catch up on youtube, read a book, clean up my war zone room, and take a nice bath. This kind of alone time is used to relax and calm down my stress levels caused by the school year. In addition, I utilize this time to find out who I am as a person. So far, I found out I love reading, writing down goals or events of the day, and cleaning up my room. I also found out how I lost my ability to draw or creativity and cooking complicated meals for myself.
As a high school student who is constantly balances around school work, social life, family, and my health, there are times where I believe there is not enough time to be alone t0 calm down. When I have a bad day caused by my parents brewing up a storm or doing poorly in school, I want to hide in my room wrapped like a burrito with my blankets to escape reality and all of its problems. This is when I use this time to motivate myself to get up and keep going with life. Luckily, I try to reframe myself from having a negative outlook on life and make use of time to the fullest.
Do you think you might choose to live alone when you grow up? Why or why not? When I grow up, I want to get marry and have a family consisting of two kids. However, as a mom, I would still make time for myself to be alone. For example, I would use alone time to relax, read a book, or journal goals or moments down. By using alone time to calm down and catch up with the world, I hope I will not become insane as a mother.
Do your friends and family support you when you need to take a break from having them around? Do you support them? Normally, I do not ask my friends and family to take a break from them. However, because I am privileged to be surrounded by loving and supportive people, if I wanted to take a break from them, they would support me. In addition, they would also try to help me feel better by cheering me up or saying something funny.
